Bad Boy Rancher’s Baby by GiGi Reine

Chapter Three

Dee

is a trip. He looks like a bad boy, tries to act like a bad boy, especially when he came up to the bar to defend me, but I could see he was a pure gentleman beneath it all. He was off-putting with all his lecturing on manners and being a lady, but he had no idea who he was dealing with, and I made up my mind not to say anything that night.

Down the road, if we met somewhere in passing, or at the bar again, I would enlighten him to who I really am, because it was clear he wasn’t a local boy. I figure he came to town after I moved to Chicago.

After he made me feel like a fool, and embarrassed me for being forward and direct, when most men in Chicago would have welcomed my invitation, I was madder than the devil. I didn’t normally go around trying to seduce men, but it had been a long time, and I was lonely. It didn’t hurt that he was more tempting than Lucifer on a Sunday either.

I tried to shake off my irritation with the man by reconnecting with some people I knew, but when that didn’t work, I knew the only way to get rid of his hold on me was to challenge him to a game of pool, something I’m good at.

My Uncle Tim taught me well, and I could shoot pool like nobody’s business. While I could have easily taken up that occupation and made a ton of money off it, I didn’t like involving myself with the kind of crowd it would draw.

Instead, I decided to use it to my advantage, to get even with Bad Boy Wade, if for no other reason than to teach him a lesson. I watched him from afar, winning against this person and that, and I knew he was no match for me.

The only problem was, sitting in his truck, driving out to what was once my secret spot, I was losing my nerve. The radio blasted an old country song by Faith Hill, and the man beside me was quiet as could be.

I wasn’t sure if that was a good sign or not. But, I decided my feet hurt in the dratted high heels I had decided to wear, so I tossed them off and put my feet on his dash. “So, what do you do here in Dumas?”

I leaned my head against the seat and admired all the shimmering stars in the night sky, curious how I was going to find my nerve now that the alcohol was wearing off.

“Ranching.”

Feeling my hackles rise at the tone of his voice and the fact that he didn’t feel the need to converse or entertain me, I decided I would take things slow and steady, and moved in closer to him so our bodies were touching.

“You know, you’re not much for talking, are you? You got this bad boy thing going on, much like that guy Andrew back there, but a bit less in your face. You actually remind me of someone special I used to know.”

“We don’t need to get all personal now. I’m not sharing the details of my life, since there is no future for us other than tonight, and you might want to do the same.”

His tone wasn’t entirely harsh, but it wasn’t nice either. He did have the Dumas twang when he talked, which I found very sexy. I lost some of my accent when I moved up north.

I wrinkled my nose, realizing this man was just like most men I knew—rough around the edges, saying very little, not caring to understand the wants or needs of a woman. Only my daddy had truly loved me, and Uncle Tim, but his demeanor was the same.

I was coming down off the alcohol, not regretting my choice, since he was a very sexy man, but feeling a little less confident than I was earlier.

Still, I pressed on. “Maybe so, but that doesn’t mean you have to be rude.”

“You say rude, I say honest.”

He pulled over in a secluded spot, the beauty of the unbridled night sky shining down on us. With the engine off, the only sound I heard was the wildlife.

I peeked over to see what he was doing. Wade was looking out at the darkness much in the same manner I was. I looked away, and my mind drifted into thought.

“I suppose you want me to make the first move now. Coming down off the alcohol, you’re losing your courage, I suppose. You are one hell of a pool player, but you suck at seducing a man.”

Before I could blink, Wade turned to face me.

Not wanting to be outdone, I looked at him steadily, exhaled for courage, and pulled him to me for a fierce kiss. Our lips melded together like molten lava, and before I had a chance to second-guess myself, he was kissing me back with wild passion.

Wade’s large hands were everywhere on my body, pulling my hips tight to his, with the steering wheel suddenly against my back. I tasted the sweetness of his lips mixed with alcohol, and I was ready to devour him.

“God, you taste so good. I can’t get enough,” I whispered against his lips, his face in my hands.

He pulled me to him again, I thrust my hips against his in invitation while wrapping my arms around his neck. Our tongues tangled in a dance that sent shivers of delight down my back.

He thrust himself up against me, his shaft hard beneath me, and I cried out, “Oh god, yes! Oh, yes!”

No longer thinking, I tore my lips away, leaned back, and pulled my dress all the way up so I could pull off my panties. Wade was breathing heavily, his eyes a storm of dark passion.

“God, you’re a feisty woman. How did I—”

He ripped at his pants until they were down by his ankles, so he could find my velvety softness and make me wet. His fingers coaxed my wetness until I could take no more. Eyes fixed on him, I rose up and took every inch of him in.

“Oh Wade, that’s so….” I trailed off and closed my eyes on a sigh, letting the pleasure sink into my bones.

Wade’s rough, strong working hands were on me again, massaging my breasts, pulling my hips so I would ride him harder and faster. His breathing was the only thing I could hear aside from my own cries and moans of pleasure.

It was madness, and I knew it. Tomorrow, I might regret it, but tonight, it felt so right. I kept pace with his rhythm, allowing it to take us both higher until we fell off the cliff, crying out, one after the other. Tempted by the tenderness of his lips to soothe my exhaustion, I kissed him one more time before laying my head against his shoulder.

I whispered, “That was amazing!”

I could barely breathe, heart pounding, body quivering, every inch of me felt like liquid and softness. As I lay still, I could feel the drumming of his heart against my ear, the touch of his strong arms wrapped around me as he held me to him.

He said nothing, and after a time, I thought he might have fallen asleep. As I sat up to look, I found him still awake.

He smiled, “Feisty.”

Not at all embarrassed by my boldness anymore, I smiled back, “Yeah, and you liked it.”

“You're right. I liked it so much we're going to do it again, princess. I just need a minute to rest. You should too, because this time, I’m taking you in that field over there.”

He pointed with his finger. I giggled, feeling that giddy sensation in my belly, the excitement and the thrill of doing something naughty.

“Only if I can be on the bottom, so I can look at the stars!”

“Deal,” he murmured as he smiled again.

I didn’t know what to do. I knew having sex changed things between people, and I hoped that after this, we could move past whatever rubbed us both the wrong way earlier. As a woman, you never know when you may need a bed partner again. Especially one so sensual and handsome.

I was surprised when Wade did the gentlemanly thing and put a blanket down.

“Do you always carry one of those around with you for occasions like this?”

I smiled and lay down on top of it, not feeling the least bit shameful of my nakedness in the dark.

He threw me a disgruntled look that told me I had made a mistake with what I said. I bit my lip and decided to keep quiet, my legs still aching from our love-making moments ago.

When he lay beside me, it was different than the first time, as if we could slow down now. Gently, he wrapped me up in his arms, and I shivered, feeling the caress of his hands against my back, shoulders, and breasts.

I closed my eyes when he kissed me, and I felt the blissful sensation of his lips moving gently and slowly over mine. I sighed and let the pleasure course through my body as he continued to glide his hands over my skin.

My hands wandered over his hard muscular figure slowly, feeling each ripple. I caressed his face, looked deep into his eyes, and ran my fingers through his now messy dark hair. Silently, I lifted my head and kissed his lips, then his jaw, his cheeks, his eyes, and his forehead.

I felt the muscles on his back as he laid himself on top of me. Legs spread, open in invitation, I held him close as he guided himself slowly into me with a moan. It was different this time, as I held him close, our bodies coming together in a slow, rhythmic dance, as the night creatures continued to call to one another.

The breeze caressed my legs as I wrapped them gently around his back to pull him closer, the earth a soft mattress for our love-making, as I cried out in pleasure when he took me over the edge.

I floated back down from my pleasurable release on a cloud of warmth and comfort in his arms, feeling his body collapse on top of me as he moaned his own release. I closed my eyes and felt the embrace of his weight against my body, welcoming it.

We lay like that for a long time, my fingers running through his hair as the stars glittered above. I found myself smiling, despite the oddness of the situation. Sooner or later, we would have to come around and move forward with the night, but I didn’t know how either of us would act toward each other.

It was clear we made great sex partners, but our personalities had rubbed each other the wrong way before. That usually didn’t bode well for anything other than some great casual encounters, but that was it. I lay still and waited until he stirred a while later.
